10th grade HS (1961). Plane Euclidean Geometry. Teacher Harry Saxon.

Saxon's Axiom # 1. 'You can't tell by looks.' Graphs lie. Don't draw pictures and say that it PROVES anything. What is the LOGIC that underlies your reasoning.

Saxon's Axiom # 2. 'There are usually several ways to get to the right answer.' Just because an authority says that the answer is X because of A, B, C and D, doesn't mean that X is the best answer. And even if it is, there may be a better way to get there with the available evidence.

I have used these Axioms almost every day since 1961 (45 years).

ONE of my most impressive lessons is this, most people go through life thinking you have to have things to go places to be come someone. When actually if you know who you are then you can focus on what you want to do in life and then find a place to do it at.Look at a board game, to play you have to know what piece you are.

Time heals all wounds.

It's amazing how increadibly bad you can feel about something at one point and then over time it just fades away. It's a great reminder that nothing lasts forever - love, anger, embarrasment, fear ... even life.
