Bless you for trying! There are no words for this type of situation, may I just suggest that you simply hug him and let your presence be his rock. It is important in grief (and anger and fear) to have a friend who is willing to stand by you in all of this. I have no idea if his daughter is guilty or not, but I am sure he is praying that she is not. That is a terrible situation and I wish all God's blessings for your friend. You are doing a wonderful thing. Keep up your natural instincts are very good.

Wow....what can you say. What a terrible tragedy. Just be there. Words aren't really that important. Do what you can...if he needs some supplies or groceries or something...help him out that way if he has no one. Better to just fumble around not knowing what to say and have it come from the heart than all those cliche things you know? Sometimes just crying together is words enough.

Take him a plant, and a nice card. and tell him that you are their for him, day or night, any time he needs to talk. or wants a shoulder to lean on, say I know at this moment it is like you have lost 2 people in your life. I want you to hold your head up high, because God has some plans for you, to do, and your grand-son, is sleep in the arms of Jesus. and God is their for your daughter also, I know this is going to take time for you to understand, why, but focus on Jesus to see you through.

Be there for him. Let him talk it out. It will take a long time
but the grief will ease up eventually.

PRAYER! PRAYER!
Ask god for strength, comfort, understanding, some times you can't find the right words to say but prayer can allow god to step in right on time and change the whole direction of mans plan. get a prayer group together even pray with him for comfort. Only god can work things out.. allow him to give his heart over to god for direction, strength, comfort, peace, and love

all you can do is be there for him when he is ready to talk, he will need that over losing 2 people. Just be there for him and dont let him be alone to long at first cause people in that situation really need someone elses support.

Just be there when he need someone to talk to or maybe he doesn't want to talk then, just being there as a friend might help him.
