i am 4wks pregnant. i wanna know is it normal to have back ache this early in pregnancy?

this is gonna be my 2nd child. i just found out 3 days ago that i am pregnant. my first i didnt have back pain like this. and i am having horrible morning sickness.

i go to my obgyn for the 1st vistit thursday

Yes it is. I had back pain 2 weeks after conceptionand through the first trimester. Here are some signs of early pregnancy...u can have all, some or none.

Spotting
Nausea/vomiting
Headache
Food cravings
Heightened sense of smell
Missed period
Backache
Crampy
Extreme fatigue
Tender/swollen breasts
Frequent trips to the bathroom

These signs can appear as soon as implantation or anytime after, each woman is different! Some women have all of these, some have a few and some women don't have any signs.

I had back pain that early, but it was unrelated to the pregnancy itself, and more an indirect side effect of the whole scenario (the pregnancy could have factored into that)... I went and got myself a deep tissue massage (make sure you tell your massuese that you are pregnant) and that did the trick for me.

A lot of times the strain your body is undergoing with the morning sickness etc. can assist in aggavating normal aches and pains, not to mention that your uterus is slowly expanding, and that will play a factor to some extend too.

Check with your doctor. Call the doctor's office first thing in the morning. I have not heard of back pain that early on. It is possible that if you are vomiting a lot with your morning sickness that you have pulled some back muscles while vomiting. But to be on the safe side, call the doctor in the morning.
