I am getting married next August. We haven't decided on a honeymoon destination yet. Where is a good place you can go that is not too expensive?

Wholesale travel suppliers do not generally have prices until 7 to 9 months prior to the month of travel, so you may find getting the best prices at this time more difficult. Resorts do offer prices a little further out but they tend to be higher priced and you won't get a air inclusive package price. There are some resorts that cater to the honeymooners and prices are generally reasonable when you book in advance. Prices for these resorts may be available now. I suggest that you work with a certified honeymoon specialist who can help narrow your choices down based on your budget, personal taste and any recommendations the specialist may have. Once you have done this the specialist can watch their supplier base for something that fits your budget for the places you are interested in. If you are interested in working with one of our honeymoon specialists please feel free to email us or visit our honeymoon webpage at bctravelcompany.com for more information including additional contact information and a list of the best places to honeymoon.

inexpensive to one is expensive to another. as a travel agent of 25 years, let me give you some perameters. 1) sit down and see how much money you have or want to spend (don't go into bankruptcy as this leads to the end of a marriage before the honeymoon cools); 2) what are BOTH of your interests (ex. you love the cold, but he doesn't, you like culture and he sports - with this NEW MUTUAL common ground - you can plan your dream honeymoon; 3) do you want all expenses included, such as Atlantis or Club Med or do you want to do ala carte with more free time versus structure; and lastly how many days do you want to spend on traveling to/from this(believe it or not i had one couple decided to go to hawaii and then found out she was scared to fly - somehow she thought she could just drive there since there were cars on the island - I"M SERIOUS!).
your best deal is an all inclusive package, prepaid far ahead of time (but don't forget to get travel interruption/cancellation insurance just in case something bad happens - my best wishes against such).one suggestion, if you don't get seasick, is to get on the new HUGE cruise ships which have everything anymore and often will let you have the ceremony for free or no cost and if some of the weddng party goes on the cruise as well. check well ahead with every cruise line for the best rates, esp. their websites. even tho'we seldom get any commissions these days due to the internet, i'll be glad to help you plan your happy day and time after it.

Check into something like Beaches or Sandals Resorts. While they are not exactly, cheap, they are inclusive. You don't have to pay extra for tips, meals, entertainment, etc. Go on line and do some research. They offer different packages at very affordable prices. And as they are in the Caribbean, and August is a hot, summer month, the prices are usually lower. One thing to keep in mind, it's also hurricane season.

Kind of need your location since the expense of travel (or getting there) can be a major part of the cost of a trip.

Plus, "not too expensive" is a relative term. "Expensive" to one person may be $1000 but to another $30,000. Can you give us a ballpark figure?

In the meantime, here's a Google search which may help you:

I've been to Thailand and it is extremely cheap if you want it to be. www.bt-store.com has some amazing online flight deals that I used to get to China. If you're willing to stay at moderate hotels in Thailand, you can still be by the beach, wildlife, rainforest, etc and have an awesome time (plus bartering is used everywhere). Enjoy!

We went to Montego Bay for 4 days - all inclusive for under $700. The resort is Breezes - check it out - you can go there pretty reasonable. Check with your local travel agent.

I've heard Costa Rica is beautiful and cheap but I guess it depends how much you have to travel to get there.
