Well I m not sure what you mean by inexpensive, but for about $40 or less for two is vicente's cuban cuisine, its a fun atmosphere.
Mi pueblo in mexican town is also good. thats probably $20 for two entrees
HA HA HA by the way, i used to work at trenton engine and i would go to that truck stop for lunch, and it is pretty darn good

If you're talking good, inexpensive as in the $10-20 range per person (i.e. not a chain like Applebee's or Bennigan's or anything like that), there's Pizza Papalis in Greektown... i've been there three times, and you can share a real Chicago-style pizza in a nice, casual sit-down atmosphere.
Or, if you're willing to adventure out of the city a little bit, there's a seafood/semi-upscale place in Madison Heights (right off the 11 Mile Road exit on I-75) called Boodles... great food, a little pricier than the chains ($15-$25), and the staff's always been nice to me.
But if you're talking about inexpensive as in less than $10 around here... you might be looking at a place like Red Robin... for all the chain's I've eaten at, Red Robin has the best service by far, don't know why.
