Please don't say it's been withdrawn......that is obvious. Under what circumstances does a listing become "withdrawn"?

it means the sellers have decided not to sell their home but the realtor is keeping the listing. if the realtor was not keeping the listing, it would show as cancelled. with withdrawn, there is a possibility the listing may become active again.

There can be many reason why a property is withdrawn from the active market.

Here are a few, the sellers have decided not to sell, a co-owner may purchase an interest, the property was overpriced and is not seeing any activity, the agent and the seller may not be happy with one another, the timing is off such as a seller or a buyers market and this one may be the most true. The seller has chosen to take the property off the market for any number of reasons. They are not required to disclose why.
The listing agent may reveal this information if authorized by the sellers. It may be re-listed in the future if it was just a timing issue.

i just put my place up for sale (this was last year), and a few days later, the water heater blew, i had the listing pulled for a few days until it was fixed. Could be something such as this.

That depends on the rules of the particular MLS. Ask the administrators.
