Why are people so open out here to ask for advice on their relationship or lack of but can't be open with the ones they love?

I was just curious. I am the type that if I need to know something I will ask no matter the outcome. I was brought up to be open and to communicate with others around me. I am just trying to figure out what it is that is holding people back from being open with others. Thanks for all the responses.

Strangers aren't in your life, they won't leave you. Your afraid to talk to your loved ones for fear they won't understand, pull away, and leave you.

It's not that anyone can't it's just nice to get others opinion instead of acting irrational. People on here will give you an honest opion for the most part, and very upfront since they don't know you. It's an outsiders opinion that can change the way a person views something.

Who says they aren't open with the ones they love?
Asking questions of strangers doesn't mean people don't communicate at home; it just means they are looking for the benefit of a wide range of opinions and experiences, and the Internet ain't a bad place to find that. Furthermore, there are plenty of good reasons for people to prefer to ask certain questions anonymously, without being embarassed or having to offend someone.

That's a very good question! I have done that myself. I guess we want to see what strangers think about the situation before confronting our loved ones, and risking having a problem in our relationship.

Because here, there is no emotional commitment. If a stranger tells you something that may sting a little, it doesn't have the same impact it would from someone you care deeply about.

because talking with people you don't know is not as intimidating or confrontational as talking with your loved one. you can get alot of good ideas and solutions in here from people who have been thru what you are going thru. but in the end you need to communicate with that person you love and get issues worked out.

mate................
somethink to thinkabout
maybe they are doing it with there sweetwoman?sweetman?
some advice like this is better with no other connections some times you have to look out the square you live in to open ones mind.
because it is easyier to disconect and that way z problems to come home to you.
we have to keep it simple
what about that some of us have a limited friends or alone,
or in abusive relationships, sometimes you dont know if you dont ask.
Maybe some love everyone but not in lust love in spiritual love,

I have a theory on that. They want people to tell them what they want to hear. People who know them often know the situation well enough to know better.
