Though we don't call it "farming" we call it "ranching" it would be raising cattle to sell for beef consumption. We have a small herd of cows that stay in a pasture all year long. We have one bull for about every twenty head of cows. After the cows have had their calves (generally in January and February) they are fed and cared for until about October when the calves are big enough to be weaned and are then taken to the sale barn and sold. From there, the calves end up in a feedlot where they are fed grains until they are fat enough to go to the butcher or meat processing plant. From there the beef goes to the grocery store and to the consumer. This is a very brief description of what we do, there is a lot of hard work and long hours involved in raising beef cattle.

which word is troubling you, "cattle", or "farming"

cattle means a bunch of cows
farming means raising stuff in an agricultural setting (a farm)

cattle farming, surprisingly enough, means rasing cows on a farm
