2/3 thirds of the country celebrates this day. It would be great for the country to recognize this as "our sport and our game" I think it would be awesome to not have to request of work for that day. I don't work weekends anymore, but when I did, i always wasted a sick day on SBS...

I use to work at a place that employed 70 people and you would not believe how many weddings and funerals and trips out of town and sick calls and sick kids and no car calls would come in. Some of these could be planned requested in advance, like the weddings, which is rare on a Sunday to begin with. But to cut the businesses some slack, they could open that day, but close at 2:00, so we can get home to make SBS dinner!

The problem is ...when Christmas or New Years falls on a weekend ... the following Monday is considered a holiday. So, will everyone get Monday off or just the Post Office and the Banks?

Yes that is an idiotic Question.

Of COURSE it should be a national holiday. It should be a World Holiday.
SuperBowl Sunday is huge in not only the USA, But Canada, and its big in Great Britain aswell.

It gets my vote for next national holiday.

It basically is a national holiday, like an unwritten rule. The government will not make it official of course.

There are three days during the year, when I wake up and "feel" different.
These days are:
*my birthday
*Chirstmas
*Super Bowl Sunday

Yah it should be a holiday. But people couldn't get off work. Because then all the supermarkets would be closed and there wouldn't be anywhere to but food for Super Bowl Parties. But kids should get off school the next day.

I agree with you 100% It surpasses Presidents day and others by far so why not? I believe it could be financially beneficial to all and a heck of a lot of fun!
