Chav is a slang term in the United Kingdom which appeared in mainstream dictionaries in 2005[1][2] .
The term "chav" refers to a subcultural stereotype of people fixated on fashions such as flashy "bling" jewellery (Generally gold), and designer clothing with the beige Burberry pattern (most famously the baseball cap which has since been discontinued by the company), and such brands as Lonsdale, Berghaus, Burberry, Von Dutch, Louis Vuitton, Stone Island, Kappa, Ben Sherman, Adidas, Nike, and best-known Sergio Tacchini. Musically chavs also tend to have a different taste mainly involving rap, dance music and an unusual type of music known as New Monkey. Response to the term has ranged from amusement to criticism that it is a new manifestation of classism.

As stated before it is the whole culture of sport wear and hoodie and violence and drugs. I live in the middle of it. I have things thrown at my house every night, endless games of knock knock ginger played by 9 year olds at 10 o' clock at night. Being called freeks because we wear smart clothes from Next and Burtons, or just something different to them. Freeks because I can be friends with Men without having a sexual relationship with them, because I don't want my child's name badly tattooed down my arm.
They really are the scum of the earth and the government really does need to do something to stamp out this plague across our country.

They are complete trash and I hate them. They are sick to look at and trampy and cheap with no original style. They where loads of cheap argos gold hoops and chains. Sadly most of britians youth are chavs....as for me...I'm Emo, that's class
