I've been guzzling down coffee and have a difficult time getting out of this! Is there something out there that can replace this compulsion?

You can't stop until you figure out why you want to!

I drink a lot of coffee... I slowed down my habit by restricting 70% of my drinking to the morning, after noon I drink a few and rarely some at night.

I did this because I already have trouble sleeping. I drink a lot of water, though. That is a good way of replacing the habit and it is good for you as it will also cause you to pee more and help get ready of most of the caffeine you ingest.

Key to any vice breaking, though.... Will power.

I was hooked on Mountain Dew. The caffiene didn't effect me much, but the calories did. I limited myself to so much a day and then cut my limit back more and more each week. I began to run more and the physical activity actually gave me more energy throughout the day. I didn't need the caffiene, plus I lost weight from a lower caloric intake and the exercise.

Sanka is the answer but be prepared for being a deadhead for a couple of days till you get all the caffine out of you system. Tyr cutting down at first rather than cutting out cold turkey...that way you are less apt to get a pounding headache.

first of all, why do you drink so much coffee? is it because you need energy? then try caffeine free energy drinks. is it because you love the taste? try getting a different drink without caffeine. if you like it because its warm, drink a hot chocolate or something. when you're at the coffee shop, but a different drinbk other than coffee

There's no secret. You're just going to have to gradually cut back and suffer through the withdrawal symptoms until you can ween yourself off of it.

Start cutting back slowly (slowly being the key word here because if you cut back too fast you'll get unbearable headaches).

To the dolt above me -
It's jager, not yeager.

you're just gonna have to deal with being tired and moody and tense for a couple of weeks...I really dont think there is anything out there to help you with that sort of addiction.....I would say dont go cold turkey.....if you do you could get some killer headaches and be unbearable to others, i know, it happened to me, lol....good luck!
