(I mean for developing their web applications, or directly for their online portals, sites, etc.)

Lots of people say that no important company uses PHP or MySQL and that they use either ASP.NET or JSP... I could use some arguments for that... Thanks...

You can also check who uses popular MySQL client programs. Here, for example, is a list of corporate users of SQLyog Enterprise:

With PHP, it's hard to say, because commercial use of PHP does not require purchasing a license, as does MySQL's. But you can still see who buys PHP performance-enhancing technology from Zend:

try 1&1, fasthosts or lycos. These are all EU based and all offer fairly low cost hosting that supports PHP/MySQL. I'm UK based and I have used all of the above and they are all OK. They all offer a control panel that lets you set up your databases and they let you add various PHP/MySQL based tools such as CMS and other portals very easily. I have been using Lycos as my main hosting provider for several sites I run for 5 years without any problems.
