You have to create a user account for the child seperate from your account.

Open Parental Controls by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, and then under User Accounts, clicking Set up Parental Controls.

Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Allow.


Click the standard user account that you want to set Parental Controls for.


Under Parental Controls, click On.

You can do it in Internet Explorer going to Tools, internet options, security, then choosed restricted and can add sites that you do not want visited in that area.. using the * character as shown. or

You can do it through AOL or even through your virus protector, if you have a computer with multiple logins running XP you can set parental controls there using the 'my computer' icon go to manage, choose users and the users you want to restrict at that level.

Are you trying to block certain sites? If so, you can go to control panel and then network internet connections tab then internet options, privacy tab and you can put the sites in that you know.
