Well if one is going east in the same direction as the
earth's rotation and the other west, opposite the rotation, then from the perspective of a orbiting satellite the
eastward one is going faster.

How about this...
One car is driving along at a steady pace - 100 MPH.
The other car is accelerating and is passing the other car at the exact moment when they are both at 100 MPH, but a split second later, it is going faster than the other car. The people in the second car would feel more acceleration and even though at one moment both cars were @ 100 MPH, the faster car will soon be going much faster.
;-D Just trying to make a good question out of it.

If two cars are going at the same speed, than one cannot be going faster than the other. Maybe one has less space to cover, and finishes first, maybe a lot of things- but one IS NOT faster, idiot.

The only reason that i could think of is wind resistance.
It dosnt seem likely that it would happen, but if it did it could be because one care is lighter.
Once care isnt really going 100 mph and it needs to have the speedometer recalibrated.
There you go!

YOU HAVE ALREADY ASKED THIS, AND BEEN TOLD THAT 100 MPH MEANS EXACTLY THAT
SO IF TWO CARS ARE RUNNING AT 100 MPH NEITHER IS GOING FASTER.

That's impossible. If they are going at the same speed, one of them CANNOT go faster- it's against the laws of physics. Perhaps if one of them was in a different dimension, though, like space it would go faster or slower.

its called drafting.2 cars in single file .The rear car is able to move faster than the front car because of this drafting effect - thats when it would pull out and pass the front car.
