i think it depends on your reasoning behind disliking it. if you only want him to quit because you think it is an immature habit. then you should make your fellings known, but not turn it into an ultimatum. if you disapprove of him toking the bong because it sets a poor example for your child and may cause health issues, though none have been proven, then i think that it would be fair for you to tell him that he cant do it. At least around you and your baby.

My boyfriend is a weed mathematician. When we first had our daughter. He stopped doing it in the house, now he goes outside. He bought him a futon from a yard sale, sat it on the back porch and does his business. (He even has a small t.v out there). NO matter what the weather is, he sits out there. He does it for the sake of our daughter. Because 2ND hand smoke can harm a young child. I think it's a hard habit to kick. Tell him to slow down some and don't smoke sooo much. My boyfriend doesn't smoke so much, because diapers and clothes takes up most of his money. Ha! And plus winter is coming and he hates the cold. But as soon as your boyfriend is done, make sure he brushes his teeth and scrubs his face. Because you know they always want to pick up the baby and snuggle and kiss them on the jaws. Baby-girl, you just have to accept him for who he is, he accepted you, and I know you have flaws because nobody perfect. Make the situation to where both of you are happy, I did. Remember.......the futon and outside, one more think wash hands and scrub face. He'll get tired of this for a while and want smoke so much.

NO! u don't have the right to tell him anything that he can r annot do. but, u do have the right to make suggestions to him and discuss the issue, with hopes that he'll respect ur feelings. now, u do, also, have the right to decide what goes on around ur child, and such as that. but, just know that marijuana is over-rated. everyone i know that does know is {and studies also show} that, most users hold a job down & are some of the better workers, don't miss work, etc... are great providers and absolutely intelligent people. so, whether ur a user or it's ur preference or NOT, do some studying up before u make such judemental jestures about it.

You consider weed immature...but on the contrary it isn't. If you 2 have been together that long then you already knew his taste in a recreational drug.

I once was a big pot head...it grew to the point where I didn't like how it made me feel.

Just because you have had a child with him doesn't give you the power to make him do what you want.

If you talk about how bad it is, all he'll want to do is discover the thrill about it. i always say you can't stop a person but if you can find and show him a bad example of what could happen( physical stuff like jail) he may not want to. Weed isn't a stupid thing, it's how a person control it. I've been smoking for years because i have the worse athritis. Nothing bad has happened.

What part of:"it's illegal" don't you understand? People of real character do not do drugs, or anything that is so obviously against the law. Drugs is not a matter of personal preference, but an illegal activity. It compromises the people around it, if he gets busted with possession and paraphernalia, it influences his behavior, thinking and character negatively of course, plus it sets a bad example for your child. I would not let anyone under the influence of drugs, around my dog, let alone the people I love. Tell him to clean up, or loose the boyfriend, make sure you get child support.

You don't have the right to tell him to stop. He must come to that decision on his own.As long as he isn't doing around you and your child. And smoking weed does not make you any of those. Those are the ones that all ready are.

I hope that he does not smoke around the baby, he is not going to stop, because you say so, he has to want to do the on his own. A relationship like this is not going anywhere, so you need to think of your child, and make a better life for her, Thank God you seem to have a head on your shoulders.

I happen to agree with your opinion on this "drug."

you really don't have a right to tell him what to do. I mean, you can tell him not to do it, but if you've known him to do it for the 5 years that ya'll have been together you're not going to get him to stop now. regardless of your new baby. for all ya'lls sakes, I hope he does not smoke the stuff in front of your newborn baby. this is VERY bad for your little 7 wk old sweety.

good luck
