It is possible to obtain information (free) from court records in some states. You don't mention a particular state so I will use Wisconsin as an example:
By going to this website:
http://wcca.wicourts.gov/index.xsl
one may find circuit court records for almost all counties except Walworth county is not online, and Portage county can offer only Probate court records (no criminal).
5 other counties are restrictive in their case data, but will eventually have all case types online.
Another state with free access: Minnesota
https://cch.state.mn.us/Common/BCAHome.aspx
One may conduct a 15 year search, only records with dispositions.
Illinois: many counties offer circuit court records via the web but no state-wide searching is possible to date.
If you could specify a state in your question, I might be able to point you toward a web source that is free.

There are no free criminal background checks. The only thing you can check for free is if someone is in jail right now at this moment.

So sorry, but there is not a site that offers this. IF you want to check your own record, then you need to call the local sheriff's office where you got in trouble, but if it is for a background on another person, you have to pay for it. They are only $9.00 through IPSPY.
