I think my child has way too much school work. It is ridiculous how much useless stuff they have to learn today. Nothing like what I had. I want my child to do good but on the less important subjects (stuff that will never be used in everyday life) as long as there is a passing grade at the end of the year.

? Don't really understand... if you mean homework, not hard at all. It is stupid, these kids have a full time job at school and come home with homework. My god, I don't bring my work home. And these kids are so little. Give them a break. I'm not hard on her at all about it. Her teacher has her all day, and I answer all her questions she has at home... but homework everynight after full time schooling, for these kids. Society is WAY to driven

VERY. It is so important. They just don't realize it now. They think we send them to school so they can be with their friends. School is so important more so now than back 25 years ago. In this society, you need the best education you can get. My kids also are active in school activities. It helps keep them out of trouble. sam

Well, you can't just say, "Go do your homework". You have to keep up with it yourself. Go through his school work at least once a week to see if he's having any problems. If he is then sit with him and try to help him. We can't leave everything to the teachers. Education of our kids calls for teamwork. One won't work without the other. Let your kids know you expect them to do their best but, that you know they can't always be A students. And let them know you're proud of them for doing their best. And most of all, let them know you love them.

I should have been harder. Every parent wants more for they're children.(or at least should) As it was three of them have homes, good jobs and spouses. The youngest...well thats anorther story.

Funny, All my kids are honor students with out any pushing. When they were younger we (my wife and I) encouraged reading, encouraged watching educational TV and yes we watched some mindless dribble for brain candy.
