I don't think anyone has ever put Nova's and class in the same sentence before.

No.

They were popular with the Max Power brigade a few years ago but only becuase they were cheap to buy and insure. When they were new they were ok but they are long past their best and not a car worth remembering, unlike the 205 GTI which was great at the time and still is.
The only exception is the 1.3 sport which was made so that people could buy a car and with not too much outlay take it rallying.

* I must ammend my statement, I thought you were talking about the Chevy Nova. I don't know about the Vauxhall.

For the most part yes! At least the V8's are. They are also bitchin', and boss! They should build them again according to the old specs. I miss the old REAL cars. The cars these days are disposable and have little to no class.
* To Phish... that's a cool story, and that is class as well.

Correct, they aren't.

They were cool for a brief period in 1983, until everyone with any sense realised they weren't a patch on the 205 and Uno for ride, handling, packaging, looks, pretty much everything that really matters.

The SRi probably stayed cool a little longer - until the 205 XT (and later XS) appeared.

My son, his mate and I had a Nova. It was slammed to the ground, had a 1300 engine and a five-speed box and a Remus exhaust, and it went like a scalded cat, and stuck to the road like glue. It was fully road-legal, taxed, insured and MOTd. It was so hard it loosened your fillings, and it was as scruffy as buggery, no carpets or any luxuries, just a couple of bucket seats and a back seat, and it went like stink.

We eventually gave it a quick spray job with Spectral Blue, and had a lot of fun with it. We eventually sold it to a company that had a fleet of cars that they rented-out as 'extras' on TV and film sets. They picked it up with a Transit and trailer, and took it to their HQ in Windsor somewhere.

take no notice of hitman. they were good little cars in their time. shame they didn't do a 1.8 like the new corsa (vauxhall of corse). vauxhall's are better because they have a better outside trim. the 1.4 sri vauxhall nova was cool. some 16" rims spax ajustables and a leyland linyx bus pipe stuck out the back. NICE!!!!!

Whats right with them would be an easier question!! I suppose the rear view mirror did its job, and they had a nice little cubby-hole for carrying your celery in, wheras most cars the celery just rolls around the gearstick!!!

Buy one, seriously. So everyone can laugh at you. And modify it with a big exhaust and tinted windows, you know make it look really ****. They are funny.

Spend your ten pounds on sweets instead.
