Look for a new job, but until you find a new job, set a budget for yourself....using the minimum salary that you'll make, (include all your bills and money you want to automatically set aside to save if possible)....then if you make any extra over that you can save it, or have extra spending money. And if possible go ahead and pay up or in advance any bills you can, so you won't have to worry about them later when times might get tough.

Car pool/Public transportation
Pack your lunch
Make Dinner at home/stop eating out
Cut out luxury treats: Cable, internet, movies, new clothes etc. (I know these stink but they’re the most effective)
See if you can buy things in bulk with some one. Like toilet paper & Shampoo at Sam’s Club, it ends up being cheaper in the long run.
If you get a coffee every morning that costs $2, that’s $10 a week, $40-$50 you could save a month if you cut it out.
And when worst comes to worse, you could get a seasonal job, the malls will be hiring a lot of help for Christmas soon.

Dont eat out...unless you have to. $5 here and $8 there adds up. The grocery store is epensive too but you have to know what your going to get before you go. And just get the necessities. Get enough for 1 week. Bread, milk, water, cheese, meat, vegetables....things you can use making alot of things. Plan out on sunday your meals for the week and then get those groceries for that week. This will also help you eat healthy and lose weight. Just try it for a week or 2. See if it helps you save some money.

By the "Always save" brand at the store. It tastes the same as the national brands and costs less. Cut out weekend trips to unnecessary places. Stop eating out. prepare your own dinners at home. If you must drive thru, order off the dollar menu.
Designate one washing day for clothes and only run the washer dryer that day. The washer and dryer consume a lot of electricity and cost a lot.

If you are old enough to smoke and drink and you do either or both, try to cut them down. Yes not out, I am not trying to make you nuts just cut back on the luxuries of life. Try packing lunch and cooking more at home. That is where we spend a chunk.
Good luck and I hope the work cutbacks are only temporary.

-dont go out to dinner.
-eat at home.
-bring a lunch to work.
-don't use the A/C or the heat as much.
-don't smoke or spend too much on alcohol.
-carpool with friends when possible.
-limit entertainment expenses
-don't buy any new clothing
-don't buy coffee or smoothies, drink the work stuff.
Those alone will be enough to limit expenditures to rent, bills, and food. And that should save you a lot of money.

Start by making a list of all your errands and run the all at once. Stay home when off work, Buy meats that can go for three meals example A roast with vegetables, limiting amt. of roast eaten, and go heavy on veggies,..Follow with a vegetable dinner with sliced meat cheese and pickles etc on platter, them put scraps of roast in pot and make soup. Really cuts grocery bill, also one member of our family has a dozen ways to serve bean, we also have as many ways to fix hamberger meat, one instead of beef roast we fix a meat loaf without liquid, make rolls of the meat and add stew vegetables. have to brown the rolls of meat before adding vegetables Good luck with your economizing.

you might be surprised at how much money most people just waste. Cutting back on cable, changing internet providers, stop eating out at lunch, don't buy that soda at work, stop smoking ( if you do) ! Watch the change and the paper money will take care of itself.

See if you can make money at home (babysitting, etc.). You will be saving gas money, time, and if you eat at home more that helps, too. If they cut your schedule too much, look for another job.
Good luck.
