Like how do you separate the clothes, what must never go together, and all those things

Our batches are separated more than 3 catergories, it really depends.
-- delicates (swimwear, bras, lace/nylon panties, etc.) Wash these by hand or in a mesh laundry bag in cold water. Hang to dry -- this will help the elastic and delicate material last longer.
-- whites (socks, white cotton underwear, t-shirts, bath towels) Wash these in hot water with bleach. Hot water and bleach are required to kill odor and bacteria
-- lights -- (light colors but NOT to be bleached like his khakis, my work shirts with light stripes, etc.) wash in cold or warm on a permanent press setting.
-- darks -- wash in cold water to help avoid fading. I usually have two batches of darks (my work clothes, and his workout clothes are done separately)
-- reds (I wash dark pink, fuschia, reds and oranges in their own batch) cold water, as little detergent as possible to avoid fading
-- New clothes... first time washing anything, I do try to wash in a separate batch to minimize any possible bleeding of the dye. Especially with dark or very bright colors. Hang to dry or dryer depending on the material.
-- Last batch is anything requiring dry cleaning -- I use dryel... it works great!

this is his duty to do his personal dang laundry, and if he's in basic terms staying a week then he shouldn't favor his sheets washed. Neither you or your mom might want to sense obligated to attempt this stuff. He might want to fairly be with politeness asking your mom if this is high quality that he makes use of the washer/dryer, and to then use it quickly and get his issues out of ways so as that he would not interrupt different kin chores. Is your cousin not conscious that he's staying at a persons'' abode and under no circumstances a motel? once you stay at a persons'' abode, you need to try to be a sturdy abode customer. meaning clean up after your self, pitch in the position you may, and examine out now to not create more effective artwork on your host once you may keep away from it. If I had a house customer like your cousin, they'd under no circumstances be invited again! do not do his laundry, do not clean up his messes, and if he leaves his crap mendacity round then placed it on his mattress so he can take care of it. Gawd, what a jerk!

Not entirely sure of your question.. when I do the laundry.. I just throw all together and turn on the machine.. I do not use bleach, of course and if I know a NEW t-shirt is RED(for example) and not sure if it will run(if the colors will run), I wash it separately by hand to see if the colors run

just moved out for the first time, huh? ;-) the rule of thumb is to wash whites and pastells at 60 celsius, and coloureds at 40 celsius. make a point of always looking at the care lables, though, and if it says delicate or hand wash, use the appropriate setting on your machine. never ever wash dark or bold colours with white, cos there is a good chance they'll run and your whites will end up blue (blue cos it usually happens with denim). you can make an exception with towels and underwear, both are usually colourfast and withstand a 60 celsius wash, with the whites and all. it's more hygienic to do it that way...

Generally whites, colored and darks and then light things with lint and dark things with lint.
You can use cold water with a cold water detergent on all of these or find a detergent with a fragrance you like. Cold water is cheaper but the detergent might cost more. Warm water costs to heat the water but your detergent will be cheaper. If you could care less get whatever is on sale and go for it. Good luck.

I always separate my laundry into 3 loads: whites, light colors, and dark colors. And I wash towels, etc. in a separate load as well. Whites take hot water, light colors take warm water, and dark colors take cold water.

Just do the whites in a separate load and check the labels.
