The majority of the somerset t is a rural & farming area of the country, i'm not up on horses but do know that owning one is very common across somerset. I would say that the need of a farrier would be great in the south west, but like i said i am no expert, plus somerset and the south west is a beautiful part of the country to live. Try looking in the yellow pages for the areas you are considering to see how many are listed.

Im in Ireland - but in answer to your question I would get onto an equestrian society in England and ask them for a list of riding schools and yards in those areas - you could guage the demand from that.
