If your going to change oils, ALWAYS DRAIN OUT THE OLD OIL FIRST. DO NOT MIX 2 DIFFERENT OILS.
Drain, refill and run the engine. Check the oil levels and make sure its up to full.
DO NOT MIX TWO DIFFERENT OILS.

It should be no problem, and you probably won't have any issues if you switch back. It's also possible to mix regular and synthetic oil - in fact, that's precisely what "synthetic blend" is. I've sometimes run synthetic oil and sometimes run conventional oils in my cars depending on my budget at the time, and I have never, ever seen anything go wrong from switching or even from mixing the two oils.

John Paul is right. You can mix them in an emergency. The different types aren't really compatable. Change the oil as soon as you can.
Wait...I've never heard of "an engine that usually uses synthetic oil". As long as you don't mix the two, regular oil works just fine.

No problem at all. But when you switch back to synthetic be sure to use an engine flush to eliminate all of the organic oil deposits that are going to build up in your engine.

What engine "usually" uses synthetic? Do you mean one that is designed for synthetic oil, or just one that has been using synthetic oil? I don't know if anyone has designed an engine for synthetic oil, so I will just assume the latter...
You can put real oil in the engine.

Read the directions on the bottle. Nearly all oils, synthetic and mineral are made so they will mix due to liability issues. I knew a salesman in the '60s that used the station brand where he bought gas no matter what it was.

Mixing a different brand, oil weight, or old oil with new or even type (be it syn or conv.) will hurt a thing!!!
And there is abosolutely no need for a oil flush or anything!!, this is all small potatoes(heck even less then that) compared to running the engine low on oil or something.....

Read your owners manual or call the dealer to ensure that your vehicle does not require syn oil. If it does not, then i would suggest an engine flush to remove the additive properties of syn oil as they do not mix well with reg oil.

I would say yes, as long as you change oil types when you do your oil change. If you're low on oil and all you can find is regular, doing it once or twice isn't going to make your car explode.
