Superglue actually reacts to the moisture in the atmosphere, it is a common myth that it reacts to air. It doesn't dry in the tube because anymore moisture cannot make contact with the surface area.

The superglue needs the natural environments to stick.

You are assuming that superglue is 'good' the only time I ever chatted with superglue it was in fact very 'bad' indeed and hadn't phoned its mother for at least 3 months!!

heres the good part it actually reacts with moisture in air to bond and they are sealed in the tube under vacuum (no air) this is why it bonds your fingers quicker than plastic as more moistuire on your skin. also why you to apply to 1 side wait a minute before adding other side of 2things to be stuck together as to allow reaction to start before creating a seal which locks out the air

Cyanoacrylates only polymerize when exposed to moisture, in most cases water vapour in the air. In a sealed tube they remain liquid.

I always wondered that it must be something to do with either reaction to air or the materal the tube is made fine. I think?!?!?!?

If all the above are correct why doesn't the lid stick when exposed to the air?

If it stuck to the inside of the tube, it wouldn't be so good, would it?

It has to dry to be effective. The tube prevents it from drying.
