hello
I'm a guy who recently immigrated from south Korea to U.S.
maybe because of the cultural difference or something, I feel
discomfort when people look straight into my eyes.

Why do you guys make an eye-contact?

What do you guys think, when people don't make an eye contact
while having conversation with you?

and lastly, how do I get comfortable making an eye-contact?
Do I just stare at them like forever??? and should I put smile too?

I'm 17 years old and Friends here are really kind to me.
I don't want them to turn back on me... don't wanna lose them :)

People from your region of the world don't make eye contact as a sign of respect. In American culture we do make eye contact as a sign we are paying attention and it is valued. You don't have to look in their eye the whole time though. Make eye contact especially if you have a point you want to make and then lower your eyes. Since you are an eastern person, I think most Americans understand, practice making some eye contact, until you feel more comfortable with it. It is a cultural difference. Oh yeah, smile too.
