this is hardly "homework help" like the category says
this seems like, tell me stuff so I don't have to read the book
come on, read the book
you just might like it
even if you don't like it, you just might be glad to have put in a little american literature in your head
Tom Sawyer is a pretty easy read, it has funny parts, and you really need to give it a good shot

Shame on anyone who just spoonfeeds you the answer to this.
