I don't know that it will ever completely end, as there will always be some ignorant people in this world. I do believe that it will keep improving with time as the world becomes more racially mixed. I'm 32.

I gotta go with Reg on this one. Racism fas proven to be quite profitable to exploit for Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Louis Farakan and the like.
Why, if we all just got along they might have to get real jobs. I do see some encouraging signs though.
These encouraging changes are'nt due to what White America have given to blacks, it has come within many blacks attitude towards themselves.
Unlike in New Orleans where all we get is excuses for their lack of self reliance and common sense there are pockets of black communities who are listening to the right voices.
I've often wondered why it is that blacks among low income inner city areas are predominately Democratic voters, always voting the same people into office, yet still getting no results.
Yet balck Americans who have obtained a College Education and have obtained a piece of the American dream on their own seem to lean more Conservative, and have shed the victim mentality, seeing the Liberal-Socialist Establishment as the Plantation that it is.

My name is Bob. I'm 47. Genuinely mature people are turning away from racism, but insecure people cling to it. I'm no good at telling the future, but if more people escape from insecurity, then racism will go away.
Oops. I almost forgot. Most of the countries in the world are racially homogeneous. In most of the world a person from a different race is automatically a person from a different country and outsiders are always looked upon with suspicion. Only in the US and parts of western Europe can a person be of a different race but still a native of the same country. If the US and western Europe survive and the percentage of emotionally mature people continues to increase, then racism could end in those places.
As a worldwide phenomenon? Maybe never.

No it will never end because all races are taught racism in some why by the people around them..no matter how much we all want to think we are not racist there are times when we all get angry or scared or standoffish for some reason...the world would be a better place if we could put racism behind us and love one another...but there will always be the ones who teaches us to hate in some way.

Yes some day it will end only after the races are so into mixed there is no distinctive race left. And it's happening now.
First the Cultures will have to merge to end racial ethnic differences, and religion will be the last strong hold of racism.
As of now religion accounts for most racism on earth, and it is rising as those who would be the most racist are finding themselves in power; Such as Venezuela's president, Bolivia's president, Cuba's president,( all dictators elected or in by force) and most middle east and African leaders.

Only when religion is recognized as a personal item, and kept out of government, schools, and the lives of the young will there be peace and no more racism.

I will include neither.

The problem is defining exactly what racism is. There are as many definitions as there are individuals. It falls into the classification of, "I can't define it, but I know it when I see it."

Would you consider not hiring someone because of their color racism? I would. Suppose you didn't hire that same individual because they couldn't speak English correctly? In that case, I would not consider that racism. But many others would. They'd argue that it isn't the individual's fault. I would argue that "fault" is irrelevant.

Some people would argue that opposition to illegal immigration is racist- after all, if you're opposed, you must hate Mexicans! But the issue is far more complicated than that.

So it depends on your definition.

But basically, beneath everything, human beings are tribal in nature. I'm not sure you can ever defeat this. But you can keep it below the surface, and try like hell.

i can't speak for other races as i'm not around them much, but as for black people, i think racism can never end as long as parents continue to do so little to instill higher morals, proper ettiqute, and just overall more friendly attitudes into their children. from my experiences, what most black people call 'racism' is simply the bad attitude that white people have towards them because they are so horribly rude and have an extreme lack of curtousy. i live in an area where there is a high black population, and without fail, the rudest people are always black.
i work in their homes and i see how the children are raised and how their parents speak to them. i've had preschool age children yell at me to 'get the f*** out of their rooms'. it really isn't their fault though. why? well because that is the way their parents speak to them. that's the way they are raised. that is all they know, so naturally, that is how they act themselves.
also, the levels of crime and drugs skyrockets in black neighborhoods. it's hard for me to have a positive outlook on them when they steal from me every chance they get.
i think that as long as black people continue to act like animals they will never be treated as equals. i have known good black people who i have called friends, but unfortunately the good ones seem to be very rare.
i have nothing against them because of color. only because of actions. i do believe, though, that if they were more friendly, polite, and honest they would readily be accepted by the rest of society.
as per your request, i'll tell you that i am 35 y.o., and u can easily tell my name.

I hope so, but if it does it won't be in my lifetime. As long as hate is being promoted & people feed into it, then racism will always be around. There are two kinds of racists: closet racists & blatant racists. Closet racists spew their nonsense indirectly, so as not to cause a ruckus. These are the kinds of racists that live among us. Blatant racists will let you know right off the bat they are prejudice, be it use of the n-word or any stereotypical comment towards another race/ethnicity.

Though generations change, i don't think that racism will ever go away. People these days are becoming so nice about it, but there is always going to be that one person that brings up the past and wants to be rude.
