Or does he get nutrition from my own body. I do not tend to this everyday, but there are days when everything makes me want to throw up and I tend to drink water and fluids not to get dehydrated but I am just concern that I may be harming my baby or something. Any advise will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Concern mommy to be . . .

Baby will deplete your body first. You could develop nutritional deficiencies, but not baby. If you start engaging in pica (the eating of non-food substances like grass, paint chips, clay, etc) then you know you're both in BIG trouble. If you're getting nutrition, then it will go to baby first and you'll probably be ok. Talk to your ob or request a referral to a nutritionist just for safe measure.

First of all, congratulations! We're expecting a baby ourself and I found it to be so overwhelmingly exciting. I'm sure you are very happy as well.

While you may not have to eat for 2 in quantity, you do need to take more of good nutrients such as vitamin, calcium, protein, iron, folic acid and so on. As previous answerer pointed out, the baby will get the necessary nutritions first before your body have a chance to take any. This means you will get weaker and weaker if you don't take enough vatal nutritions.

Furthermore, intaking enough vital nutrition ensures you will have a healthy baby. Why would you take any chance of having less than perfect baby by not eating properly?

In addition, there are many things you need to watch out while being pregnant. For example, you should avoid prepared salad menu, taking too much Vatamin A, avoid sugar and salt intake and etc.

Search the net and you will find plenty of great tips to help you produce beautiful baby. I hope you feel better enough to encourage you to eat well. Take care and all the best!

I'm at 6 months and do the same thing. This is also my 3rd baby. So you're not alone.

As far as starving your baby, you're not. Just keep trying to eat things throughout the day, munch on good things like yogurt, fruit, fresh veggies, cheese and crackers, things like that. I found it helpful to eat or snack all day rather than eat 3 big meals. It helped keep the nausea at bay. Drinking water is a must of course as is taking a prenatal vitamin every day. Just stick with it and in a few short months you'll have a whole other set of things to worry about. ;D Good luck!

No it wont harm the baby at all. The baby draws its nutrients from you, and if there arent enough for both of you, the baby takes yours, and then you loose weight, but the baby will still be healthy. I lost like 13 pounds in my first 1-2 months of pregnancy. But long as you take your prenatal vitamins, everything will be ok. Sometimes you wont be hungry, but you should eat like a small snack, a banana, pineapples, apples, something like that, just to have something in your stomach. Ive been there, done that, im 9months pregnant, and ive gained 30 pounds!!!!

I, too am 5 months. The baby will get what it needs from you regardless of your diet. The worse you eat, the worse YOU will feel, because you are still being robbed of those nutrients. We take Prenatal vitamins to bulk up our storage of vitamins and minerals so our bodies can better handle the draw. Not having enough fluids is no good, though... It can give you really bad headaches and make your nausea even worse. Just take your vitamins and drink lots of fluids, and your baby will get everything it needs.

4 oz of cereal and babyfood 6 circumstances an afternoon? Like 24 oz of robust meals? it really is WAYYYYY too a lot for somewhat one which is sufficiently previous for solids, and (sorry to be blunt) an insane volume for a 4 month previous, who many times ought to no longer be having any solids in any respect. At 4 months somewhat one desires no longer something yet breastmilk. (And a drop on the percentile charts isn't a reason to initiate solids early.) in case you have to be giving solids this quickly, some tablespoons (one ounce) some times an afternoon (after breastfeeding) is more beneficial than adequate. If toddler is gaining very poorly or dropping weight, this can advise a situation along with your furnish. i'd communicate with a lactation representative and in case your furnish is unfavourable and that's not plausible to strengthen it, supplementing with formula (an complete food) would routinely be a more beneficial positive theory than filling him up with empty starch and greens (which include few nutrition and no fat.). OTOH, if he's gaining nicely (a minimum of a pound a month) on breastmilk, and change into satisfied on milk on my own until eventually very last week, i'd quit solids totally and pass on nursing on your commonly used trend and trust that he's getting what he desires.

Your baby will NOT starve. This is why people get bad teeth during pregnancy as wel. the baby is using all YOUR vitamins to live. Everthing you have stored before pregnancy. Water is most important. getting dehydrated can cause premature labor. Just eat whatever sounds good. My doctor said even if it is cake or potato chips that you can keep down it is better than nothing. Good luck and I hope you don't suffer much longer :(

I came out of the hospital weigh 20 pounds less then when I became pregnant, I was throwing up from beginning of June until Thanksgiving weekend.

I went many days with barely eating at all, then not being able to keep what I did eat out, my son was born weighing 8 lbs 7 oz. He was fine.

You are not starving your baby. Even if you don't eat from lack of hunger, morning sickness, whatever, your baby takes what it needs from your stores and continues to grow. If you are deficient in something, your OB will let you know.
