the knock sound only makes a ' pop' sound

pull up your messenger goto "messenger" top right corner then go to preferneces then alerts and sounds then you can find whats going on with your computer make sure you have the speakers turned up and pluged in

Can you hear music or news videos on your computer? If not maybe you speakers or sound card need to be replaced.
