I don't think that women have to abstain from makeup or dress in horribly frumpy clothes. In fact, I grew up with Amish, and I'm thinking that goes a bit far too .
However....
1. The current "Brittney Spears" fashions are simply horrible. 90% of the female population would never look good in in, and the remaining 10% need to consider whether or not they want to look like a strip club dancer.
2. When anyone relies on their looks to get by, it inhibits their growth emotionally and spiritually. There is nothing sadder that a person whose looks are gone, and they realize that they've got no friends, no skills and no personality worth mentioning. I once talked with a model who did a Playboy shoot (pics), and she was discovering at age 30 that she actually needed skills, friends and a winning personality -- it was sad.
3. At some point (usually very soon), living w/ a beautiful person who is a pain in the butt is a whole lot worse than living w/ a "modest" person who is a great person.
Sooo....
Dress like you care. Dress so that you make the best of what God has given you. Don't fall for the fashions of the day (ick!), like I did the last time bellbottoms were in style.
Signed...
A Christian Dad (who is still a guy you know).

Yes, modesty is appreciated. Don't go too far though. While the old Victorian style apparel is beautiful, it is unnecessarily heavy and dangerous in some climates. I, a male, normally wear long sleeves with jeans. It is cheaper than sunscreen. You do need to consider your environment. Don't endanger your health or well-being. Think about risks such as rotating machinery, falling in water, heat illness, and anything else that might influence your choice of clothing. You can dress modestly without endangering yourself.

Yes I do.... Women who dress immodestly may turn heads and get fake attention, but will probably not attract a man of integrity.

Yes. There is a connection to how we dress and to who we are.
