This is a great question i love it! And its so so true aswell, its like your doing something without even thinking about it, if we squeeze just a bit harded maybe the channel might just change lol. Its the same as when your cars stuck and u pretty much slam your foot on the pedal when its already down as far as it goes. Or when your computer freezes so you type aload of random buttons! and bang the keypad that wont help. You can even compre this to when we swear at the T.V cos theres a technical fault or bang things when they break and hope theyll work. This is such a true question had fun answering and now im gonna be really self conscious everytime i find myself doing that now lmao

You are probably to cheap to go buy new batteries and you know that there is always the possibility thet the remote control is no good anymore. The contacts under the keys do get bad.

for the retards: because you want to use every bit of the battery as possible, ya know, the more you squeeze, the more you get it alll out!

for the couchpotatoes: who in the world wants to get up and change the dam batteries when you can survive watching the brady bunch marathon all saturday morning with a beer in one hand and the damn remote control on the other.

for the somewhat intellect: they had just been watching one too many 'married with children' episodes the night before after that exhausting exam that their brains had been overly fried and if the remote control wasnt working? who in the f u c k cared at that moment.

Because you have no real proof that the batteries are dead, and when you've used this technique in the past it has worked occasionally. Our remote control often responds to this technique.

because we think it's going to work. Then to put the icing on the cake we have to throw the remote at the tv set or wall in frustration when we can simply walk to the tv set and change the channels the "hard" way.

The same reason why you press the buttons a million times on a elevator thinking that for some reason it will speed up the process. lol

Because I don't feel like getting up to get new batteries or changing the channel by hand.

That's just stupid! When I can't change the channel I get batteries! What moron would sit there and press the buttons when they know it won't work!!

because you want to believe that the batteries are not yet over and at the same time you want to exercise your thumb or maybe it is automatic for your fingers to keep on pressing in able to achieve what you want

hahaha that is such a great question. I think I do it because I think it will work if I press harder. That's so0o aggravating when your laying down trying to watch t.v and your remote dies.
