It's not very scary - maybe a 1, 1-1/2 at most. I saw it but it was confusing and I couldn't figure out what happened. In fact I posted a question on here looking for answers. I'd appreciate any help.

The book is pretty disgusting--If the new BLACK DAHLIA re-creates Ellroy's book, it's unnecessarily gruesome, in my opinion. Ellroy invented some villains in his book, too.
I really prefer the tv-movie version of the story starring Lucie Arnaz that came out years ago--she also looks more like the "Dahlia". There is another version of the story, the movie TRUE CONFESSIONS, starring Robert DeNiro and Robert Duvall, which is very good. There is also an A&E non-fiction program about the Black Dahlia, discussing the investigative book, "Black Dahlia Avenger", which seems to be about the REAL murderer, a doctor.

I want to see this film. It's based on a real crime that took place out in California. I heard that in recent years a cop from LA became interested in this case, and the more he investigated the crime, the more he began to believe that his father, a doctor, was the murderer. At least that's what I think I heard!

I rate it a "1"
The movie is a remake and based on a real murder that was never solved.
