Hello. I’ve missed too many pills on my birth control & wonder if I am having implantation bleeding or a 2nd period. I was supposed to start my period Sunday August 27th; however I had a GYN appointment on Tuesday & was told to continue taking my pills. Once my appointment was over I began taking my placebos for the rest of the week so I could have my period & prevent a lot of spotting because my boyfriend was coming into town for a week. I had my period & began taking my pills again; I missed a couple/taken some late during my 1st week on the pack & felt some light cramping which I now wonder if it was ovulation. I had unprotected sex from September 9th threw the 16th. On the 12th I started a light period that lasted about 3 days. I don’t want to say it was spotting because I think it was a bit heavier. I have cramping on my left side again. I don’t know if I’m ovulating twice, having a 2nd period or gas. Is it too soon to have bleeding/symptoms associated with pregnancy?

I am not worried about STD;s or AIDS. I have only been with one person for the last 6 years and we’re both very monogamous. I went to the GYN for my yearly check up a week before I had unprotected sex, I haven’t had results to my Pap yet, which I assume is normal or else they would have called by now. I also am not trying to get pregnant nor do I need to see a psychiatrist. I am usually very good with taking my birth control, I was just really excited and I messed up. I missed a pill and doubled up the next day and a I did take some pills later in the day then I usually do. So yes I know there is a chance for pregnancy, and yes I bought some early pregnancy kits but they only work 5 days before your period and I am just anxious and wasn’t sure how soon you could have IMP bleeding. Thank you.

I'd say you've screwed up your entire cycle and now it's trying to shift back to a normal schedule. It's too early to be having pregnancy symptoms and I don't think you're pregnant anyway.
You might want to talk to your doctor about a different form of birth control though since you have problems remembering to take the pills. Ortho Evra is the patch, you put it on once a week, and that's it. You could get an IUD if you plan on being with the same guy for a while, they're good anywhere from 5 to 10 years. There's also the Depo shot (although I hated it) it's good for 3 months at a time. These are longer term forms of birth control and a bit easier than remembering to take pills everyday. If those aren't an option, make a routine for your pills. Take them at bedtime, or take them when you first get up. Mark it on a calendar, set yourself an reminder alarm on your phone, put them next to your bed so you see them before you go to bed etc etc. Above all else, don't stop taking your pills until you can talk to your doctor about it. Good luck!

WOW .... missing one pill and you can get pregnant ........ if you had a gyno appt there should have been a pregnancy test, no? It takes 30 days to get back into your system you have messed up again ...... I'm not sure why people don't use condoms the pill does not protest you from STDs and AIDS
More than half of all new Infections occur among YOUNG PEOPLE BETWEEN AGES OF 15 AND 25 very sad but very true so I think you have more that being pregnant to worry about

You sure are trying hard to get pregnant, aren't you? You need to see a doctor ... preferably a psychiatrist.

you should go back to your doctor, it could be a side affect or even the pills need sometime to act to the comical in a women's body.
