microscopes can be used to visualize things unable to be seen with the unaided eye. They allow us to view actual cells which are one of the most basic units of life. In researching, scientists are constantly breaking things down to the cellular level. It is crucial to be able to classify and visualize these cells.

Electron microscopes (SEM, TEM) are used to see very minute details that even a light microscope has no chance of resolving
