Secret Bunker?

Question

I was talking to a military person, not so long ago, and was told of a secret bunker, under Hyde Park, London.

I was told in confidence, so don`t tell anyone..........

Apparently, it has tunnels that link it to Buckingham Palace and Westminister, and is within easy acsess to the so called gentlemans clubs that are situated in Mayfair, which are watering holes for Admirals and Generals and the like.

He told me he was a guard there for a while, and was gobsmacked of the size of it.........

I have been walking around Hyde Park, looking for disguised entrances.....found a few workmans huts and small one room buildings, but they are to far from park lane, to be of any use, if, indeed they were entrances.

Anyone know of other secrets, we should not know about.........

This bunker is not a WW2 structure,

I think people are getting it confused with the war room bunkers, near downing st,

I have heard similar tales.
Once we worked (construction industry, mechanical services) in a disused underground railway station next to Hyde Park, it was entered via what was then a pizza restaurant. That was about 20 years ago.
It was very interesting, I wish I had had time to explore it.
Amazing down there, like a museum, nothing had changed for many decades.

I would not be surprised at the truth in your statement. Most Major cities have tunnels and secret rooms located beneath the streets for various reasons. In Columbus, Ohio there is an old tunnel that connected the Statehouse with the old Ohio penitentiary for the Governor to witness executions. Beneath several buildings at the Columbus airport is an entire underground facility which used to belong to the military complete with hospital and commisary.

The bunkers you refer to have been there for years and the person you were talking to is in breach of the official secret act anyway there are several tunnels and bunkers under London stretching from the old London docks in the east to heathrow airport in the west

We actually have an 'open' one in Essex. If you drive between Ongar & Brentwood, you'll see the brown National Trust/Tourist Attraction type signs saying 'Secret Nuclear Bunker'. I've taken my family a few times.
I think it safe to assume that there are bound to be others still kept secret & ready for use.

i,ve heard of that too. its true cos a guy on the t,v once traced the routes (from ground level) & he even spoke to some1 who claimed to have been guarding them. i know a secret! u see then posts at the side of the road with a big orange upturned "v" on the top? u ever wonder what they are? underneath those are pipelines between all the major fuel depots & military bases in the u.k. apparently in just in case war breaks out & we need an emergency supply! if u type in google "secret bases in the u.k " see what comes up!

There are hundreds of "secret" bunkers throughout the U.K. mainly from the time of the Cold War although some survive from WW2.

I have read of many larger cities world wide that have secret underground facilities. There are many in the western U.S., I've heard, and rumor has it, they are all connected by underground tunnels. There are some hard to believe stories about people who have gone down into these places, and are lucky to have come out alive to tell about it. Many report having seen malicious people, and even aliens.

The bunkers are for top politicians and royalty. Once they start a nuclear war with some other Tossers, they will de-bunk down and be safe till its all over.
