You have black hispanics, white hispanics, mexicans, puerto ricans, dominicans, colombians, etc. Should they come up with a new system to better recognize the diversity of this group? H ell, it honestly think it would be better if we were all called americanswith the labels.

Actually you forgot some groups
How about White Spanish speakers, Black Spanish speakers, Native America Spanish speakers, Mestizo Spanish speakers, Black Portugese Speakers, White Portugese Speakers, Native American Portugese Speakers, Mestizo Portugese Speakers...it's crazy! I think it's better to define someone by their nationality than t heir race. Cuban Americans, Brazilian Americans, Chilean Americans, Mexican Americans...etc.

If every hispanic person wanted to be called by their exact origin then everyone would have to know the ethnic background of everyone because all caucasians would want to be called "Polish" "French" or whatever. "American" would be a better term for all.

"Hispanic" refers to people with Spanish ancestry. It is politer to call someone by their nationality ("Mexican", "Cuban", etc.) or, if you don't know it, Latino/Latina refers to someone from Latin America (Mexico, Caribbean, Central & South America).
