What do You think of the Maple Leafs chances this season?

I think they have a good shot at making the playoffs, but at the same time, i wouldnt consider them a stanley cup contender.

I believe management is slowly trying to rebuild the team, with all their young guys. They would probably be happy with a playoff spot. It will take a year or two of good managing before this team becomes a stanley cup contender again.

I am a die-hard Leafs fan and proud. I always hold out hope for my team. But this year, I have extra hopes because they got rid of Lindros, Domi and Quinn. For years my sisters & I debated about how the Leafs needed a new coach. It was inevitable that Lindros was going to be a fluke! I think the Leafs are going to surprise everyone - including me....and will definitely make it to the Playoffs and go far. I will be happy to be booking a room to be able to attend the celebration parade in Toronto set for next April 2007 (or whenever it's gonna be)!

I forgot to say "Thank God they got rid of Belfour" too!

the Leafs have a terrible team this year and will miss the playoffs for the second time in two years. they don't have anybody, Sundin is the only one there and hes getting to old hes to tired of trying to do everything him self, Tucker was a fluke last year, the only hope for the Leafs is that Raycroft comes back from the dead.

peterboro...>>>> your a real Leaf fan aren't you, Tie Domi is no longer with the Leafs and its about time. Sundin has been there best player ever since his been there hes getting close to the record for Leaf points, and in the Toronto media it was always Domi this and Domi that give it up he is a shitty player and made to much money for a crappy player gave up on fighting 5 years ago and still was making close to $2 million a year. Sundin 5 pts night Domi 2 fights, Domi on the cover of the Toronto Sun.
**** Domi and the Leafs.

the leafs will finish 4-5 in the conference they will depend on the defenceman this year. But they also need Steen And Wellwood 2 step it up and add more offence. The need 60 goals between them both.

Better than last year. Getting rid of Lindros, Domi and Belfour were three of the smartest moves they could have made. All they have to do is take the "C" from Sundin and give it to a Canadian....nobody wins with a european captian. Still won't make playoffs tho. I'm guessing 9th place in the east.

Chances of what? missing the playoffs--very good. Making a Final in your lifetime--not too good.

I mean, why sign Peca? He's vastly overrated. Sure Raycroft might be a decent gamble but why not go with Aubin and Tellqvist? they could have used the $$$ they paid Raycroft on a decent second-line center (and I'm not talking my rep is based on Hasek making me look like a Selke winner Peca).

They need to trade McCabe while his value is so high. He's not that good. He's Adrian "I score 23 once so pay me" Aucoin--Laff version.

Before we all head out and jump on the Tavares bandwagon. Can anyone tell me the last time a first drafy pick lead his team to a Stanley Cup. Think about it It is coming along as a question soon.

Better than last year's. I'm a Leafs fan but I'm going to be realistic. I think they're going to make the playoffs as the seventh or eighth seed and they're going to get eliminated second round at best.

I don't think they'll make the playoffs. Raycroft is gonna be the key factor. Losing Lindros and hurt them too. The Peca acquisition wasn't enough this off season, in my mind.
