Does this have to be related to social science? If you have the time, you can watch lines at banks and grocery stores. Observe how they move. Try to see which lines people prefer. Maybe observe how much time is spent in line. Other options relate to fear or how readily a suggestion might be accepted. I saw an experiment showing a crowded room ignoring signs of a fire, much smoke and an alarm, because they were told to stay put by an instructor while he left the room. They would be penalized for leaving. I know of cases at college where girlfriends were found hiding in closets after the boyfriend evacuated during a fire alarm. The boyfriend and girlfriend were afraid of getting caught after visiting hours. Who'd be so scared of getting caught that they'd stay in a burning building?
