Your guinea pig has learned that doing a circle gets him a carrot so he is repeating he behavior for additional rewards. Since the trick is new, i would give him the carrot so he doesn't lose his new skill. He may keep 'begging' this way and you can give him a reward less frequently after a while. I would pick new tricks based on what he does naturally. for example, when he 'chirps' say 'good chirping' and give him a treat. He'll pair your command with the chirp and then the carrot. But be careful, he may start 'chirping' all of the time to ask for more treats.

do a search for peter gurney's website. without it, i would have never survived our piggy's pregnancy and delivery. i actually saved one of the babies because i knew what to expect after reading his advice about gp pregnancy. good luck.
