YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did you know that withdrawing from alcohol is the only "drug" that can KILL you???? Yes, all the others (herion, crack, cocaine, etc) can be very uncomfortable but alcohol IS the only one that can acutally kill you b/c it could cause you to have a stoke or heart attack due to your blood pressure going so high. I know b/c i've been there. Yes, i'm a recovering alcoholic, i use to have seizures from not having enough alcohol in my body...it was awful.......yes, alcohol IS a drug and it should be controlled but as someone has already said.....that (prohibition) didn't work. And what is worse is that it IS so available, at every corner store (not that crack isn't either). But alcohol is everywhere and legal and that is why we have such a major problem with alcoholism, losing jobs, DWI's, etc. People in rehabs or prisons, alot is due to alcohol related incidents....so YES, alcohol, in my opinion is THE WORST AVAILABLE DRUG.......I'M SO much happier not to have the "shakes" in the morning and everything that goes along with alcohol.

I think it can easily be considered a drug. It gives people a good feeling when they do it so they want more. It tkes away the pain just like any other drug out there. The only difference is it is legal. I mean think about how many alcoholics are out there. They cant stop it is an addiction for them and they do want to stop but they need it in their life. I think they should make it less strong and the legal driving limit should be nil, or none. Now it is 0.08 and people always pass it. That is one drink. That does affest you, even if you drink alot, or it takes you alot to get drunk. So yes to your question.

Alcohol should be going through the same process as cigarettes. Advertising and marketing of it should be banned and taxes on it raised. This process is called decommodification, which essentially means making it available, but not as a regular commodity such as TV's or under-ware or apples. Gambling should be the same (lottos and casinos). Also things that are currently illegal, mainly drugs, should become legal and also turned into non commodities. Smoking, drinking, gambling and doing drugs are all vices. They shouldn't be illegal, but they should be highly regulated and controlled.

NO!
I say that not because I approve of results of people who have drinking problems. But because we are allowing the governments - fed, state and local - to regulate our personal lives. smoking, hamburgers, even personal thoughts and feelings/beliefs. Where will it stop? I am getting real tired of being told what I can and cannot do, say, think, eat, whether I agree or not. Whatever happened to freedom? Have we lost our way in the politically correct era we are living in?
Yes, crack down on drunk driving, set up more sup rise check points, worse punishment for crimes committed while drunk. There is a lot that can be done with laws currently on the books. Contact your local police dept and let them know what you think or suggest.

No--there is enough control on alcohol. The more laws we have the less freedom. Most people are responsible, and shouldn't be punished because of a few dumbasses.

Yes. No. There is enough control on the sale of it. There isn't enough control regarding the laws for driving drunk.

How much greater control? It's pretty controlled now? Prohibition certainly is not the answer.

Of course it is. The control ship has sailed. Prohibition did not work. Tax it.

Yes we wouldn't want more drunk driving deaths not just from teens but the adults. Laura Bush's "hit and run" being a prime example.
