I have seen them being worn with a shoe that is a deeper shade of brown with tan stitching. There is a chucky heel shoe that Tommy H. makes that I have purchased at Maxxs and Marshalls which would great with that style dress. The shoe looks a bit like a loafer, but is dressed up with a small tassel. Have a good day!

either a black pump no higher than 2inch heel or a black dress shoe. Black is the only color I can think of to wear with tan that would blend
