What can I see and do in Houston, Texas?

I'm planing a trip to meet some family there, but its a new city to me and I don't know what to do or see. Any suggestions?

you could go to the Galleria (a large 3 level mall w/ice skating rink) and to Rice Village (shops & restaurants). starting in the last weekend of September through mid-November, you can go to the Texas Renaissance Festival near Conroe. we go every year. the food is good and we always have a blast! look these places up on the internet. Houston is full of great restaurants. I recommend Niko Niko's on Montrose. It's Greek & Great! Let us know later how your trip went. you can also visit the Houston Zoo and Museum of Natural Science (in the Hermann Park area) as well as various other museums. NASA & Kemah are also fun.

truthfully not much. This is a business city, oil to be exact. Most people come here on business. Astroworld has been torn down, amusement parks are closed. Only thing I can think of is The Galleria Mall, and the beaches in Galveston (45 mins away)

check schedules houston is the home of the Houston Astros baseball team, the Houston Texans football team. Pleanty of shopping malls. You can also call the Houston Chamber of Commerce, they can sent info such and dining, lodging, etc.

Uh go to Kemah it's cool. Oh and inside Houston you can go to the MARQ E center in West Houston.
