Oh, I love a challenge like this! Get comfortable, because this I'm going to be awhile.

DC:
Air Wave: can travel via airwaves (past and present version)
Arsenal: weapons expert (originally the first Speedy)
Aquaman: aquatic abilities and telepathic communication with sea life.
Atom: molecular size control
Batman, Nightwing, Huntress, and Robin: natural atheletic abilities and gadgets
Beast Boy: animalistic shape shifter
Black Canary: martial arts skills and sonic scream, her mom only had the martial arts skills
Black Condor: flight and shamanism
Blue Beetle: super mystically granted abilities (Dan Garrett and post Infinite Crisis version)
Blue Beetle: Ted Kord only had atheletic abilities and gadgets
Captain Marvel, Mary Marvel, and Captain Marvel Junior:
magically granted super powers
Cyborg: mechanical powers from robotic side
Doctor Fate: mystical powers
Doctor Mid-Nite: can see in the dark and is a skilled medic
Elongated Man and Plastic Man: super stretching
Flash: super speed, regardless of which version )Jay Garrick, Barry Allen, Wally West, and Bart Allen)
Green Arrow (Oliver Queen and his son Connor) and Speedy: masters of archery
Green Lantern: power ring, regardless of which version (Alan Scott, Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner)
Hawkman and Hawkgirl: flight
Ion: a living power ring (formerly Green Lantern Kyle Rayner)
Martian Manhunter: super powers including shape shifting and telepathy
Negative Man: living being of negative energy (Doom Patrol)
Red Tornado: wind elemental who may no longer be robotic (see new Justice League #1)
Spectre: mystic powers being "the Wrath of Vengenance"
Starfire: natural alien abilities that are super here
Superman, Supergirl, and Superboy(deceased?): super human powers
Tempest (formerly Aqualad): aquatic and magical abilities
Wonder Woman and Wonder Girl: Greek/Roman Gods magically granted super powers
Zatara and his daughter Zatanna: real magicians

So, counting all the different applicable versions of the above, I'm at 50 after ten minutes of typing and I haven't even finished the current DC universe, let alone started on the Legion of Super-Heroes yet. Should I continue?

Okay, here goes
Scott Summers/Cyclops: optic blasts
Jean Grey-Summers/Phoenix: telepathic/telekinetic
Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat: phase through solid objects
Remy LeBeau/Gambit: charge objects with kinetic energy
Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic: strech any part of his body
Susan Richards: turn invisible
Johnny Storm: ignite himself, flight
Peter Parker/Spiderman: has the abilities of a spider
Steve Rodgers/Captian America: need I say more than that?
Ororo Munroe/Storm: elemental control
Bobby Drake/Iceman: the name says it all
Warren Worthington III/Angel or Archangel: has wings, can fly

I know most of the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Avengers. There are too many to list, but I know most of them.

Seriously...
not another bozo coming around, asking "How many Superheroes are there?"

Ok, there are 4 or 5 major comic book companies out there all of which could have 10-20 major title characters monthly, each. That includes groups, which usually have 6-10. This is excluding dead, missing, canceled, or off-season characters.

But what the hey, just to prove my point here is an incomplete Marvel (one company) list.
