has to be offense since you need to score points to win...remember the best defense is a good offense

Defense is immensely critical because that unit dictates the stamina of the team...also they can prevent scoring as well as score themselves.

All the great Championship teams have had great defenses (most recently being the Patriots team that was able to stop Peyton Manning in the AFC game 20-3 and later went on to defeat the Eagles I believe). You can also look at the Ravens.

I've yet to see a team win the Superbowl based sorely on offense (cough Peyton).

Defense is the best defense...in my defense.

I heard it explained once that the offense sells tickets and the defense wins games. I kind of tend to believe this. You need a decent defense to stop the other team from scoring, but people come to the games to see the offense play. So if you have a good offense, you can sell more tickets.

the defense is more important. They can stop scoring, and score themselves. Good offense and no defense ends in a tie. Good defense and no offense could end in a win

Defense. If the defense is strong AND smart, they can keep the turnover rate down thus giving the offense more chances to score!

They have to coexist with each other. You cannot win a Super Bowl without both. If I had to break it down I would have to say that the most importan part of a football team would have to be the offensive line, if you don't have a good offensive line forget about it.

i would say they are tied because the offense is the one who usually scores so that's where all the ponts usually come from, but the defense is definately important because they have to keep the other team from scoreing and they try to intercept the ball and all that so i think that the offense and defense are both equal.

Defense. If your defense hardly allows any points then you don't need a great offense to win games.

Defense, because it can stop the other team from scoring, and they could even score a few points themselves. They also could control field position, and make the offenses job a lot eaiser.

well it really depends for the type of football you are accustomed too. In my Opinion living in Hawaii I love offense but have more respect for defense so its all by how much of a game you would like to see
