There are thousands of good ideas, many have not been widely used. Try using the human body as a battery. Use a dollar store teeny calculator, and make a battery from layers of copper ( like pennies ) and silver (dimes ) and blotting paper soaked in ordinary spit. There are hundreds of computer devices now implanted in humans, and using the body as a battery would be the most sensible. You could also use the module from a dollar store tiny digital watch - it works great. Computers will soon be implanted in everyone for cell phones, music, email, whatever...

Go online and search for science project - you will get hundreds of ideas from dchools around the world...

Take a dollar store laser pointer, and put it thru a prism, and take a lightbulb, get 2 sheets of cardboard, put two tiny holes in them and shine the two beams in parallel. Show that the flashlight bulb will turn into a rainbow, but the laser just stays a tiny beam. Explain why.

hope these ideas get you thinking !

I ceated a space city out of small boxes of assorted sizes and little people. I used a roll of plastic to cover it. A blow dryer was used as a climate control system so the people could walk around outside without heavy space suits. I put a lot of time into creating the space terrain, using foam and spray paint. Thin wires wrapped with shiny fabrics created rings around the planet and suspended the sun and moons above it.

obtain the rainfall data from your local area (see weather.gov to find one) and test the following hypothesis:

During the summer months (may, june, july, august, sep), does it rain more often on weekends or weekdays?

The theory is that the pollution buildup during the week tends to increase the particles in the air, just enough to favor weekend days vs weekdays. Need to use many years and possibly only the "hottest" time of the year when it is stagnant

How about researching what factors affect the swing of a pendulum. Use a washer tied to a cord. Try different weights, different sizes of cords, different heights dropped, and different lengths of cords. Remember to form your hypothesis about which factors will effect the number of swings per minute or the amount of time per cycle.
