The bible says that if you do not tithe you will be cursed with a curse. You may still continue to recieve blessings but you are more likely to hit more severe hardships. Its better to have your needs met and to be broke because you paid your tithes rather than to be broke and not have your needs met because you didnt.

No, you are to tithe if it is something that you are able to afford.

My Husband and I give a lot of our time instead of giving a full 10%.

We help out with a lot of Church functions and things like that. We also volunteer at a food pantry, nursing home and such.

When we have big events and dinners at Church we always help with buying a lot of food and things.

My Husband also ushers and I teach sunday school and we both teach Children's Church.

Maybe it would be a good idea to give a chunk of money at tax time, that way you wouldn't have to really worry.

Hope that helps a bit.

Read Malachi 3:10 by not tithing you are stealing from God. You cant expect God to bless you financially if you are not being obedient to the one thing God asks from you and that is to tithe. I know that sometimes its hard but God says "NOW TRY ME IN THIS" God says to try him with your money because its one of the hardest things for people to give. and watch God open for you the windows of heaven and pour out his blessing that there will not be enough room to recieve it. But dont just give to give. Name that seed! what is it that you are waiting on God for??? whatever it is , name the seed that you are giving, and just as you are faithful to God in the little he will bless you with much!

My understanding of tithing is that it is something that is required of us all. It is based on trusting Him and obeying Him. I can't tell you for sure that God will "cut you off" from all your blessings; however I know that if you are obedient in spite of financial struggles or anything else....He will bless you richly in many ways.

John 14:23-24
Jesus replies, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me will no obey my teaching."

I believe tithing is a lazy christians way out of actually doing a good deed for someone....will you not buy a hungry man food because you already gave?
I believe that god continuously puts things in front of us to do our part.
like i said...would you let someone pick a pizza crust out of the garbage and eat it or would you buy him a burger?
would you buy a $10 pair of shoes at walmart for someone youve seen on the street without any shoes?
or would "I already gave" be sufficient enough for you.
as christians we have a commitment to "get our hands dirty"...not to preach..but to help and comfort our fellow human being.
and when you do help someone your not helping so you can convert them to christ...your doing it to ease thier suffering a little bit...
we are gods tools to help heal however we can...
would your 10% be better in the hands of your church leader or in your own hands so you yourself can make a difference?

No, and please don't buy into it. No one KNOWS what if anything the Creator ( if any) expects of us. Just do the best you can, when you can. Obviously the church needs money to keep going. If you are LDS, you won't get a temple recommend if you don't tithe, but whatever. Try to learn to think for yourself, please.

No, God does not base your blessings on how much money you give him. His love cannot change for you no matter what you do. If it did not a single one of us would be redeemed.

God expects us to give but if you don't have he does not expect you to give he wants a cheerful giver. he does not giving does not nesseccary include money. it could be time that what people don't know. It harder to give your time than money stop and tink about it.
