After seven years of marriage, one - man or woman- gets bored and starts to look around. That is the seven year itch. Keep this in mind, that this is just a saying like the 'freshman fifteen'. It does not mean every body gets the itch.

You must mean the Seven Year Itch. That is supposed to be the time in marriages where the partners begin to think about looking elsewhere. That is the nicest way I can put it.

After seven years of marriage, some couples experience that one or both of the people in the marriage have an urge to cheat on the other spouse. This is usually due to boredom, restlessness, and/or need for fulfillment no longer found in the marriage. This is not always the case, but it can happen.

The phrase is " seven year itch" (i think¡¡)

Every relation goes through ups and downs.
And the first 7 years of a relations are sort of a test on how you're relation is going to be.
Most people go into a relation very badly prepared and with really high expectations about how perfect the other person is going to be and make their life.
Now in those 7 years reality comes stick it head around the corner at some point.
And all of a sudden they feel they need to go on the look out for someone else cause they lost the spark and things got boring.
That they lost the spark cause they failed to feed the fire never comes to mind. ( could be?????)

it is a reverence to an old movie (Marilyn Monroe) if I recall right. in any event the basic premise is that after about 7 years a couple goes though a dangerous period where the homeymoon is over and they need to retune their relationship, and find each other otherwise they get the itch to shop around -- anyways - something like that.. still curious look up the movie.

It was the name of a movie. After being married and settled down for so long "7 years" a guy wants to go out and have fun with his friends, and not be married so much.
