For example, 9/11
I do respect those people and pity them and their families but didn't they deserve the same respect when they were alive?

more than half the people who says they ought to have respect didn't give a crap about them when they were alive so why do they care now

I think good people deserve the same amount of respect when they are alive.

With death, brings forgiveness. It would be great if we had awareness and appreciation for all before they passed. All humans deserve this, but it want ever happen, its takes the act of death for people to congregate and celebrate ones life.

It's like you said, we feel guilty about the way we treated them before. And saying things at their funeral that you never would have said to them in person just might mean you are ashamed of how you acted and are hoping these other people don't think bad of you. And you are right it kinda makes you seem like a liar. Live every day like it's your last - and always tell the people you love how much they mean to you. =)

Yes and no. Everyone deserves respect, but the people that die on 9-11 deserve extra respect fro their courage

I absolutely agree with you!! I'm sure most of the people involved got respect when they were alive but much more respect passed on!

i agree with the fariy girl. you dont know what you have until its gone, then when their gone, you miss em so much that you give lots of respect. and u dont want the ghost to haunt you for not respecting them.
