Guess I am weird like Sarah Jessica Parker but to me childbirth was the most amazing.beautiful, spiritual experience of my entire life, and I did it twice without painkillers, My son was born in 4 hours, but 15 years later I gave birth to my daughter and was in labor for 30 hours (never mind the three weeks of inactive labor) It was not easy, and yes it hurt like hell, especcially the last few hours, but I would not trade that experience in the world for drugs that would make me numb. And for all those woman out there trying to convince man it is the worst pain in the world (gonna loose a lot of friends here I guess ) I definitelly have experienced worse pains (like having your tooth drilled without novacaine or tremendous stomach cramps)
The best way I can describe the pain is if you have ever had a bad muscle cramp (calf cramp maybe) when all your muscles cramp up like that all at the same time, that is precicely what your uterus does, only with a contraction you KNOW you are going to have a beautiful outcome

Well, I gave birth with no pain killers, and it was definitely the worst pain I've ever experienced. It only lasted about an hour and fifteen minutes, so I guess that's lucky, but that also meant that everything was more intense because it was all happening so quickly. I really just felt like I was being ripped in half. And the contractions were horrible too... think of the worst cramp you've ever gotten from a workout or something, and then multiply it by a thousand. I was in so much pain, and so tense that my facial muscles were all spasming. It was crazy. And then I was sore for a weeks afterwards too. Fun stuff. But, even through all of that pain, I knew what I was working for and when you think about that, it's totally worth it. It's not like if your hurt from an accident or something and you're just in pain. At least with childbirth, you know that the pain is for a very good reason. I would definitely do it again with no painkillers. I don't know why really, but to me that made the whole experience a lot more special to me. Now, who knows, maybe if the next time it lasts longer than an hour and fifteen minutes I may change my mind, haha.

I have heard it said that the pain of passing kidney stones is about on par with the pain of giving birth.

Here's the best I've got. Poison your food, when the twisting, knotting pain starts, have someone kick you in the balls, yank on your you know what really hard, all while trying not to rip your @ss in half from the food poisoning. Tha's about it.

it feels as though your bones are being pulled apart. it's not the big deal that the baby is coming out it's the contractions that get ya. maybe because i had a broken pelvic bone. it's the worse pain i have ever felt in my life! people say you forget the pain. you don't.
