I am 19 weeks 1 day pregnant, and about two weeks ago, I would feel little flutters and an occasional thump. Now it's been well over a week now since I have felt anything, and I am concerned. I checked the baby's heartbeat with a doppler I have here at home, and it sounded perfect, so that was reassuring. I have a dr appt and ultrasound (gender one) scheduled in two weeks.

I am very eager to feel the baby move or some kind of movement again!! Should I be worried??

When should I feel my baby move?? What do all you currently pregnant and experienced pregnant people think?

It depends entirely on the baby and the mama. Your build, where the baby is sitting, how sensitive you aree, where the placenta is and how active a baby he or she happens to be ar all factors. If you have checked the heartbeat and it is strong, don't worry. Babies like to sleep when we are awake, and play when we are sleeping. As he/she gets older and bigger, they will move a whole lot more, and you will want a break from all the kicking! Mine used to like shoving his toes under my ribcage... Owww! Congratulations and enjoy your pregnancy. If you still have any concerns, call your doctor.

Anxiety over when the first movement will be felt is always replaced by anxiety that fetal movements don't seem frequent enough, or that they haven't been noticed for a while. At this stage of pregnancy, however, these anxieties, while understandable, are usually unnecessary. the frequency of noticeable movements at this point varies a great deal; patterns of movement are erratic at best. Though the fetus is stirring almost continuously, only some of these movements are strong enough for you to feel. Others maybe missed because of the fetal position (facing & kicking inward, for instance, instead of outward). Or because of your own activity--when you're walking or moving about a lot, your fetus may be rocked to sleep; or it may be awake, but you may be too busy too busy to notice its movements. It's also possible that you're sleeping right through your baby's most actyive period. At this stage babies are most likely to act up when their moms are lying down. One way to elicit fetal movement is to lie down for an hour or 2 in the evening preferably after a glass of milk or orange juice or other snack. Some mothers notice they dont get fetal movement for 4 or 5 days before the 20th week. After that there's still no need to panic.

hey im 18 and 23 weeks pregnant now with my first (its a boy), i first felt the 'butterfly sensation' when i was 16 weeks gone and it was not very often prob once or twice a day, then i hit 22 weeks and now the little bugger thinks that when mummy is in bed its playtime and he will keep me awake it can be annoying when ive been at work all day but then i just have to smile as it feels wonderful to feel my son kick and to know he is ok, as for the heartbeat, not to scare you but i was rushed into hopital when i was 20 weeks as i had stomach pains the docs checked for the heartbeat but took ages to find it as mine was over powering it, it was the first time i had heard the heartbeat so i thought it was his but it turned out it was mine they could hear they eventually found it but it took them ages, so if i was you i would go to the docs sooner just to be safe, other than that when the little one kicks you will know about it as it does not stop, good luck x

You might want to get to try to get an earlier appt. Just to make sure that everything is alright! There is a way to get the baby heartbeat and your own mixed up! So to reassure that everything is alright! Plus, you can try some music. Most babies get stimulated when you either read or play some music for them. Good luck, I hope it is a girl.

your probably so busy you don't notice it. And perhaps when your laying down the baby is sleeping too. If you hear the heart beat as you say it should be fine but If your concerned call your Dr. and get checked. I know I would if I was concerned

The first few weeks the movements you feel will be sparatic, so don't worry. Just lay down after eating and be patient and I bet you'll feel the little one.

i felt my son kick at 16 weeks. smaller framed gals will feel earlier and larger framed gals may feel later. when ever i hadn't felt him move in several hours i drank a cold glass of icewater and layed down. apparently this woke him up because he would try out for the olympics! it was fun at night me and my husband would look in amazement. enjoy and good luck
