The PS2 is an awesome system it has great games but to tell you the truth the Xbox 360 is a geat system and will be better than the PS3. Although the PS3 will have better graphics than the Wii or the 360, thats all they have. All the great titles are comming out for the Wii, not saying that the PS3 is going to completely suck. The PS3 will have Tekken, Final Fantasy, and other stuff but thats about it. The main reason it's going to cost so much is because of what it brings but it's NOT A RIP OFF( beacuase it brings all that high tech stuff). It come with a crap load of stuff but for what? Most of the games are going to suck anyways. I would personally wait for the Wii. the 360 is a great system though they are going to have phantasy star universe, halo 3, the splinter cell series and so on. But the Wii is going to have great games to.... I consider the PS2 better than the Xbox 360 though and it's cheaper

Absolutely. I own one. I say buy it because it's very affordable now and the games are dirt cheap, plus there is a great selection of quality games. PS3 is going to be VERY expensive when it launches, and it'll be scarce (only 400,000 are shipping to the U.S.), so get the PS2 now and hold out about a year or two for PS3. It'll be cheaper and have a better selection by then.

Most assuredly. I've had mine since it came out, and I now have almost 40 games for it. It's got great value, in that it can play it's games, and it's also backwards compatible with the PS1 games. There's a huge selection of games out there, so there's something to suit everyone's tastes in gaming. The graphics are very good (Not as good as the Xbox, but still good), and new games are still coming out all the time. I'd say go for it, since it won't be a budget killer.

Personally I would buy a PS2 over a PS3 if you're on a budget, but if you can afford the console and the games, save up for a PS3 the specifications on it show that it will be a much better console.

Yes, PS2 is worth the price. I have friends who bought XBox 360 and have had nothing but trouble with them. If you wait a couple weeks, PS3 will be realsed and the price of a PS2 will drop about 50 bucks.

you may play on each and every of the fashions except the 40 gigabyte. i might want to signify getting the 60 gig in case you'd be doing quite some heavy PS2 gaming, because it really is hardware depending to run the game, so it technically has a PS2 contained in the PS3. The 80 gig runs it off of software emulation, so this is in basic terms part of the cellular Broadband Engine. and in spite of the actual undeniable reality that it really is amazingly powerful, it needs to commit a number of the CPU to taking section in the game, and loading the game factors, and easily taking section in it. in case you'll in basic terms play each and every once in a lengthy time period, the 80 gig is your impressive guess. clarification for the more effective gigs. ;) The 40 gig performs in basic terms PS1 video games, employing an emulator as well. do not get the 40 gig in case you want to play PS2 video games. also, it don't have reminiscence stick help, 2 USB slots, no SD card slots. and also you get a Blu-Ray action picture fairly than a sport. 80 gig is far better and far extra fairly truthfully worth the money than a 40 gig. about 80% of the video games are totally compatible, yet each and every once in a lengthy time period we get a firmware replace, or perhaps extra un-oftentimes that replace supplies extra finished compatibility to video games. you'll play that 20%, in spite of the undeniable fact that this is totally iffy. i'd not recommend taking section in undesirable video games. the better the game is, and extra in many circumstances happening, the added likely it really is totally compatible. 80 and 60 gig in spite of the undeniable fact that are not in production. There nonetheless are extras to purchase on the save (80 gig) yet even as they are lengthy previous, they are lengthy previous. 60 gigs are in reality lengthy previous for sturdy. you would possibly want to purchase a used one, off of an internet site, or likely GameSpot, EBGames, and so on. finally Sony will launch a one hundred-3948729358723948 gig HDD PS3. ;)
